Cars That Will Never Decrease in Value
71
While watching Expensive Rides last night which was on the Bugatti Veyron it occurred to me that there are a few cars out there that will never decrease in value. In fact most of these cars in this list will see their lowest price on the day they are sold as a new car.
Most of your typical cars will see substantial depreciation over a short period of time. For example a friend of mine picked up a Jaguar XJR that had 45,000 miles on it for a little over $10,000. This is a car that sold for 8 times that price just a few years ago. A 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo that sold for nearly a quarter of a million dollars can be found today for about $100,000. That is typically where a Lamborghini stops decreasing in value so a car like the Gallardo will decrease in value by $150,000 or so for about 6 years then it will level out and in years possibly start to rise in value. For example the Lamborghini Countach which today sells for about half of what it did when it was new and I suspect that over the coming years it will climb in price to eventually above the original value. The 1985 Lamborghini Countach originally sold for about $100,000, considering inflation is actually about $200,000. In today’s market a clean Countach will set you back anywhere from $100k to $140k.
So now what cars can you buy and be sure that they will never decrease in value at all? No I am not talking about Hondas or Toyotas. The cars in this list are a few of the most elite cars in the world. Among this list is the top speed holder, as well as the fastest production track car.
At nearly 2 million dollars this is by far the most expensive car in the world. It is the fastest accelerating car reaching 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. It is the officially fastest car in the world with a top speed of 267 mph+. This record was reclaimed by the Veyron from the SSC Ultimate Aero which exceeded the orginal 253 mph record. Bugatti did this with the new Super Sport model that was made specifically to break the world and set one that everyone says is unbeatable.
